At Mindful Films, I can create intimate, professionally filmed interview pieces that preserve the voice, presence, and life stories of someone you love. These are more than videos— they’re cinematic heirlooms. Designed to be watched and shared by generations, each film becomes a lasting connection to memory, identity, and meaning.
What Is a Legacy Film?
A legacy film is a professionally shot documentary-style interview, filmed with care and intention, capturing your (or your loved one’s) stories, reflections, values, and life lessons. It’s a way to say what matters while there’s still time, and ensure those memories are never lost.
Whether you’re planning ahead, navigating a serious illness, or honoring an aging family member, these films provide:
A record of a person’s voice, face, and presence
Meaningful stories and life lessons in their own words
A heartfelt gift for children, grandchildren, or loved ones
A timeless reminder that lives on long after we’re gone
The Process
Each film is created with a light, respectful footprint and a deep sense of care.
A small crew of two (director and cameraperson) comes to your home or another meaningful space.
We set up one professional camera, simple lighting, and a wireless mic to ensure high-quality sound and video.
The interview lasts 60–90 minutes and is guided by thoughtful, contemplative questions.
The footage is then edited into clear, watchable chapters (for example: childhood, values, turning points, advice to family).
You’ll receive the final digital file, ready to be kept, shared, or archived.
Additional interview sessions or multi-person stories can be added for an additional fee.
Why It Matters
So often, we wish we’d recorded our parents telling that one story, or captured a loved one’s laughter just one more time. Legacy films offer a chance to be intentional about preserving these moments before they’re gone.
In the context of end-of-life work, they can also be incredibly healing. A space to reflect. A way to affirm meaning. A way to create legacy.
